Half a century of precision tile craftsmanship

Tilers Ghana was founded in 1976 in Accra at a moment when the country’s institutional building stock — banks, embassy compounds, premium hotels, ambassadorial residences — was being commissioned to a finish standard that no contractor could yet meet. We started as the specialists those clients asked for by name, and across nearly five decades we have remained the firm that the Tier-1 institutional roster commissions when the tile work has to be perfect from edge to edge.

Where our work lives

Our portfolio sits inside Accra’s most rigorously specified interiors — Tier-1 bank lobbies on Ridge District, hotel ballrooms and ground-floor public spaces in Airport City and East Legon, embassy commissions in Cantonments and Roman Ridge, ambassadorial residences across the diplomatic enclaves, and a steady stream of heritage residential restorations in Cape Coast’s Castle Quarter and historic Accra. We extend into Kumasi for institutional and commercial commissions, and into Takoradi where premium hospitality and corporate clients commission tile work at the same specification grade.

What we specialise in

Large-format porcelain installation across walls and floors — slabs over 1.2 metres, laid flat to FF50 floor flatness, joints calibrated to under 1 millimetre. Bookmatched marble and onyx cladding for lobby and ballroom feature walls. Decorative pattern tiling — geometric, hand-laid mosaic, herringbone, and basketweave — for hospitality public space and premium residential. Anti-slip wet-zone tile systems for hotel pool decks, spa zones, and commercial wet rooms, certified to R-rated slip standards. Heated floor tile systems for premium master suites and ambassadorial residence wet areas. Heritage tile restoration — colour-matched, hand-cut replacement, lime-mortar bedding compatible with century-old substrates. Substrate preparation engineered for live-load institutional floors. Movement-joint and expansion-joint design for tile fields exceeding 100 square metres.

Who we work for

The Tier-1 institutional roster: commercial banks, central bank facilities, multinational embassies, ambassadorial private residences, premium hotel chains, Airport City corporate showrooms, heritage residential clients, and the Ghana Tourism Authority’s restoration commissions in Cape Coast. The clients who specify tile work in writing and audit it during installation.

The Project Office method

Every Tilers Ghana commission is owned by a named member of our Project Office. From the first free site survey to the final acceptance walkthrough, a single specialist signs for the work. We document substrate moisture, plane variation, and bedding compound to written specification. We dry-lay every premium-finish field before we commit to mortar. We protect the work through the construction programme. We hand over in writing. This is the method our clients commission — not the price.

The half-century arc

Tile craftsmanship has changed in every dimension since 1976. The slabs are larger. The compliance standards are tighter. The substrates are more demanding. What has not changed is the institutional roster’s standard: the finish must be perfect, the field must be true, and the tile work must outlast the next two facility expansions. That is the work we have signed for since 1976. And that is the work we continue.
